Paul Jon Layne was born in Miami, Florida. He graduated from the University of Miami in 1991, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration, Magna cum laude, with Departmental Honors in Economics and General Honors. Subsequently, Mr. Layne graduated from the Florida State University College of Law in 1994, with honors. At Florida State, he served for two years as a member of the Law Review and Moot Court team.

Elisabeth (McCloskey) Culmo was born outside of Boston, Massachusetts, and grew up in Bayshore, New York. After graduating, magna cum laude, from the American University's honors government program in Washington D.C., Lis moved to Miami to pursue a legal career.
Carolina Beatriz Suarez was born in Miami, Florida. She graduated from the University of Florida in 2002, earning a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, with Departmental Honors in English. Subsequently, Ms. Suarez graduated from Florida International University College of Law in 2007. While at Florida International University, Ms. Suarez was on the Dean's List and was the recipient of a C.A.L.I. Excellence for the Future Award and Book Award for her performance in Remedies and Administrative Law.
